Consumers approach to health is different this time; it s more aggressive sophisticated and here to stay. On a hot summer day the first thing that likely comes to mind is a tall cold beverage in your hand. Unfortunately a majority of the most popular summer beverages come at a cost to your health. Chances are some of your favorite summer beverages are packed with an exorbitant amount of sugar. While the beverage may go down easily and help keep you cool in the hot summer sun enjoying your favorite summer beverage may mean sipping on hundreds of grams of excessive sugar. Now imagine drinking more than one of these beverages per day. There are plenty of summer beverages you should be avoiding to save your waistline and your overall health. Sugary Summer Beverages You Should Be Avoiding: 1. Soda. Whether you are opting for regular or diet soda you should just say no to soda this summer. Sodas contain way too much sugar or even worse -- artificial sweeteners.

Mexicans are so eager to buy that they come to the USA looking for products instead of waiting around for someone to call them and sell them something. They visit US trade shows organizations and many companies. I constantly have someone in San Diego visiting from Mexico to speak with me on how they can find products of all kinds to export. Who s looking for new beverages? All convenience stores and supermarkets chains hroughout Mexico. They are looking for beverages to sell in retail stores or to other distributors in Mexico most of the time they will buy truckloads and export them to Mexico themselves handling the shipping imports and tariffs. If you travel through the large supermarkets in Mexico you will see how many US products could be selling in Mexico and are not.

Some believe the tea can help with coughs. Studies have been done claiming that drinking the tea helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol. In Guatemala it is considered a hangover remedy and also good for the kidneys. As the calyxes brew a tea high in Vitamin C it is good to drink to fight off colds and strengthen the immune system. There is no exact recipe for this beverage. Much as one might prefer strong or weak tea or coffee the amounts used to make this beverage are only guidelines. In Guatemala Rosa de Jamaica is served quite strong and sweet. My recipe reflects the Guatemalan style. Place 1/2 to 1/3 cup of the dried calyxes into 2 cups of boiling hot water and allow them to steep for 20 to 30 minutes. Strain the liquid add in another 2 to 4 cups of water and sweeten to taste. Serve over ice.
