What typically happens when you see an interesting recipe that youd like to save and try out at some future date? You grab the closest piece of paper and quickly jot it down. You then stick it on your refrigerator or place it on the countertop telling yourself that the first chance you get youll put in your recipe box or favorite cookbook. But then what happens? It gets lost or misplaced and you never get the chance to try it out. Another scenario popular among at-home chefs is trying to save your favorite recipes. It may even be a family recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation. The way these recipes are usually stored is to be written down on 3" X 5" index cards and placed in an index card storage box. Or they may be written down in a blank recipe book. This is better than having them written on loose pieces of paper but there are also some major flaws with this method.
When we got the check we also got an unexpected surprise. She brought out a large vacuum sealed plastic bag of the marinara sauce from what appeared to be directly from their food supplier. We didnt get the recipe but we sure got a large quantity of sauce to bring home. So it does pay to ask and while you may or may not get a recipe directly you never know what might happen I guess. There are of course a good number of books many articles online and numerous websites all claiming either access to or having themselves restaurant secrets and copycats recipes for many favorite American restaurants. Whew it sort of makes my head spin a bit but in order to help me achieve this quest of mine it has been worth the effort.
Many people share their favorite recipes online via blogs or websites and often upload photos of their vegan meals and food to accompany the recipe. Another way which many people prefer to get their recipes is by purchasing a vegan recipe e-book. Why do many choose this option when they could get free recipes elsewhere? There are many advantages to downloading recipe e-books which are: 1. You can download them onto your iPad smart phone or tablet and carry your small device into the supermarket when you are doing your shopping. This means that you will not have to write a recipe list ever again! 2. Vegan e-books are created by professional vegan chefs are proofread and the recipes within are absolutely amazing! 3. Photos generally accommodate each recipe so you will know beforehand exactly what you are making! 4. Never lose a recipe that youve written down again! 5. The recipes are tried and tested 6. Many people nowadays prefer to store their recipes on their iPad smart phone laptop or tablet rather than on scraps of paper or an actual folder (its a modern trend in this electronic society!). In the past wives and mothers traded their secret recipes met together for recipe swaps and jotted down their recipes by hand onto a small piece of paper which would soon be added to their recipe collection.
Do not despair however because there are many cheaper (or free) ways to find some delicious vegan recipes! At Your Library Check out your local library and you might be lucky to find a couple of vegan recipe e-books available for you to loan. When you get home make sure you either write out or type out your favorite recipes in the book before its time to return it! See if theres a chapter on easy and quick vegan recipes and make sure you also jot a few of these recipes down. You will thank yourself for doing this later on when you are too busy or tired to spend hours in the kitchen! In any (non-vegan) recipe book You do not necessarily have to look in vegan recipe books to find vegan recipes! Any good recipe book should have some great ideas for you to make which are already meat and dairy free (e.g.: soups salads and stir-frys).
